The Textile Cuisine

 Here is my 2016 in a glimpse - not all the works I created but the ones most important. It was a tough year and I'm really happy it comes to an end. But no resolutions for the new one. They don't work on me and I'm not even good in planning. It's much better to take it bite by bite as it comes. 2017 in Chinese calendar will be the Year of the Rooster. You know that I love roosters - here is one of them wishing you Happy New 2017 Year! Tak wygląda mój 2016 w pigułce - nie wszystkie prace, ale te najważniejsze. Rok był trudny i cieszę się, że zbliża się do końca. Ale żadnych postanowień na nowy. One u mnie nie działają, a w planowaniu nie jestem za mocna. Będę sobie po prostu przez niego szła krok po kroczku. Według chińskiego kalendarza 2017 będzie Rokiem Koguta. Wiecie, że lubię koguty - tu jeden z nich życzy Wam Szczęśliwego Nowego 2017 Roku!  

This is a little bird I stitched some months ago. I named it "The bird of hope" because it was inspired by Emily Dickinson's poem "Hope". And now, in this rough time, I can't find any better words for Season's Greetings than this little piece of poetry: "Hope" is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all - Tego małego ptaszka uszyłam kilka miesięcy temu. Nazwałam go "Ptaszkiem nadziei" ponieważ powstał z inspiracji wierszem Emily Dickinson "Nadzieja" (w tłumaczeniu Ludmiły Marjańskiej). A teraz, w tym tak nieświątecznie trudnym czasie, trudno mi znaleźć lepsze słowa, którymi chciałabym się świątecznie podzielić: Nadzieja - pierzaste stworzenie - Mości się w duszy na grzędzie - Śpiewa piosenkę bez słów - I zawsze śpiewać będzie - 

If you remember my former wintry textile works ( THIS one or THIS ) you know, that I see laces in winter landscapes. So you won't be surprised that this little piece of poetry really spoke to my heart: Jeżeli pamiętacie moje poprzednie zimowe tkaniny ( STĄD lub STĄD ) to wiecie, że zimowy pejzaż kojarzy mi się z koronką. Więc nie zdziwicie się, że to małe poetyckie cacko od razu trafiło do mojego serca: "Dress code" Springtime asks for subtle patterns and colours summer lush and fall exotic but winter in winter the dress code is lace The author knew that I was going to use it for inspiration, hope she will unveil her full name to the public. Autorka wiedziała, że zainspirowała mnie do uszycia nowej zimy, mam nadzieję, że ujawni swoje nazwisko publicznie.  So that's how I see Winter this year. It's a happy coincidence that while I write this, I see almost the same outside - real Winter dress with fresh snow. It's not my favorite time fo
